What is Hyperbaric Oxygenation?
Hyperbaric Oxygenation (HBOT) is a safe, effective, and non-invasive treatment in which a person breathes oxygen inside a pressurised environment.
This is hugely positive for healing and rey as oxygen plays a significant role in every step of the healing process.
Hypoxia (low oxygen levels) is a known cause of many diseases, infections and inflammation therefore reversing hypoxia is vital in healing and rey.
HYPERBARIC OXYGENATION MAY HELP THE BODY:
BOOST ENERGY + HEALING
REGAIN YOUR COGNITIVE EDGE
IMPROVE SLEEP
OTHER BENEFITS MAY INCLUDE:
• Reduction of Chronic Inflammation
• Increased Blood Flow/ Circulation
• Antibacterial Action
• Regeneration of Damaged Tissue
• Stimulation of Natural Healing System
• Reduction of Stress & Anxiety
• Improved Neurological Function
• Increased Energy Levels
And More...
WHAT TO EXPECT
-
During the treatment, the pressure in the room is two times higher than normal air pressure so you may feel a sensation of pressure in the ears.
-
This can usually be relieved by swallowing or yawning. The treatment is typically painless and is usually administered in a series of sessions over a period of time.
-
This increased pressure is what allows oxygen to more readily dissolve into the blood and diffuse throughout your body.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBOT) involves breathing high levels of pure oxygen in a pressurised chamber.
Oxygen under pressure becomes soluble so hyperbaric oxygenation creates the ideal environment for oxygen to dissolve into the plasma (liquid part of the blood) ensuring larger quantities of oxygen is delivered to the cells through the body.
OVERVIEW
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a well-established treatment for decompression sickness, a potential risk of scuba diving. Other conditions treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy include:
- Serious infections.
- Bubbles of air in blood vessels.
- Wounds that may not heal because of diabetes or radiation injury.
In a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, the air pressure is increased 2 to 3 times higher than normal air pressure. Under these conditions, your lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure.
This extra oxygen helps fight bacteria. It also triggers the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing.
